What is a "Living Lab"?

We are an active research center in the Zooom Gallery of the Canada Science and Technology Museum,  where children try out hands-on learning experiences and parents can observe and learn from children's actions and reactions.
We are
thrilled to have been graced with the participation of over 4000 children and their families, contributing toward approximately 60 different graduate student research projects with the University of Ottawa thus far!
Thank you to the Canada Science and Technology Museum, our research students, volunteers, and all the families who have helped us reach this amazing milestone in such a short time!

Want to join the fun?
Our studies vary each day so be sure to check out the calendar on our website
uottawalivinglab.weebly.com/ongoing-studies.html

or ask in person to plan your visit.

Can't come in person? PARTICIPATE ONLINE!
We have new online child research activities for children, including infants, aged 7 months to 9 years old who primarily understand English and/or French with a variety of 2nd or 3rd languages. If you would like to contribute to science, send us a message at [email protected].

Click on the tab "Living Lab Online" tab above for activities to try at home!

Check out our new YouTube channel featuring video activities for children of all ages! Try them in both English and French, with more coming soon! living lab - YouTube
